Welcome to the Tamarack Wellington. Located in the heart of Hintonburg, this brand-new development by Tamarack is definitely in my top 5 favourite condo buildings in the city. The location is phenomenal and the high quality of construction is obvious the moment you walk through the front door. Fabulous shopping and restaurants are steps away, and the commercial spaces on the ground floor of the building have been leased by some delicious businesses… but more on that later.
Made up of only 52 units, this boutique condominium offers some of the best layouts I’ve seen. The first thing that stood out to me when I first saw the finished suits over a year ago is the fact that every kitchen was designed with a modern chef in mind – massive islands with extra storage and leg room, cute breakfast bars, large sinks, an abundance of cupboards, and, of course, high-end stainless steel appliances. The same fantastic Muskoka cabinetry was even used to create the coat and laundry closets. This is just one of the many examples I’ve noticed of Tamarack not “cheaping out” on the finishes, as we see some other developers do.
The unit pictured here is The Columbia. At 781 sq. ft. this 1-bedroom condo is a dream-come-true if you love big windows, lots of natural lights and large living rooms. Facing South-West, it offers all of the benefits of a corner unit and plenty of space for a proper dining area, which is becoming more difficult to find in new construction. Master bedroom features a walk-in closet and a cheater ensuite.
The property management group in charge of this building currently is Taggart Realty – a highly reputable company, and one that I would recommend to every developer in Ottawa.
As I mentioned before, the ground floor is made up of 4 commercial spaces. Three of those have already been leased. Best part – Blue Panda Realty will be moving into the East corner space this year! We are taking over approximately 2500 sq. ft., and will have some pretty cool neighbours.
Stela Luna is 3 doors down, and as most of you know, is full of stupidly delicious gelato. The flavours are always changing, but some of my favourites are lemon cookie, salted caramel peanut, and mango (when I feel like being “healthy”). If you have no self-control or will power, I suggest that you stay outside or enter at your own risk.
Next to them, is a creative new way to get your groceries and other essentials – NU Grocery store. They believe in “no waste” shopping. Bring your own containers and fill them with bulk food essentials, toiletries, or delicious beverages. They also sell freshly baked goods, locally made soaps, and regular produce items.
If you would like a tour of the remaining units, or if you’re interested in the last commercial space, be sure to get in touch with one of the pandas before it’s too late!
